This Privacy Policy describes what information the House Visual Study Bible ("we", "us", "our") collects when you use https://hvsb.app (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can, and we do not sell your information or use advertising trackers.
Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect:
- Email address — used to sign you in and to contact you about your account.
- Name — optional; provided by you or by Google if you sign in with Google.
You can sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, or with your Google account. If you use Google sign-in, Google shares your name, email address, and basic profile picture with us, subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Payment information
Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered directly with Stripe and never touch our servers — we store only your subscription status and a Stripe customer reference so we know your plan is active.
Messages you send us
If you use the Contact Us form, we collect the message you write along with your name and email address so we can respond.
Usage, analytics, and diagnostic data
Like nearly every website, our servers keep standard request logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps), and the app records first-party usage, error, and diagnostic logs in our own server database. We use these only for security, troubleshooting, reliability, understanding how the Service is used, and improving the Service — not for advertising or profiling.
Cookies
We use a single essential cookie (session) that keeps you signed in. It is required for the Service to work and expires after 30 days or when you log out.
We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies, or web beacons.
Storage on Your Device
To make the Service fast and usable offline, the app stores study content and app data in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device and can be removed at any time by clearing your browser's site data for hvsb.app.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide the Service and keep you signed in.
- To process your subscription and manage your account.
- To respond to your messages and support requests.
- To send transactional email (sign-in codes, account notices) and occasional updates about the Service. You can opt out of non-essential email on your Account page or with the unsubscribe link in any such email.
- To monitor for security problems and fix errors.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Service Providers
We share information with a small number of providers only as needed to run the Service:
- Stripe — payment and subscription processing.
- Google — optional sign-in; images in the Service are also delivered through Google's content infrastructure.
- Amazon Web Services — sending email (sign-in codes, notifications).
- Cloudflare — content delivery and routing of email sent to us.
Each provider receives only what it needs to perform its function.
Disclosure Required by Law
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities, to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Service or its users, or to investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service.
If we are ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred; we will provide notice before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Retention and Deletion
We keep your account information for as long as your account exists, plus whatever period is required for legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes. Server logs are kept for a shorter period.
To delete your account and personal data, contact us using the "Contact Us" button at https://hvsb.app and we will remove it.
Security
We use commercially reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will remove it.
